What is a return?
Every year the Sun comes back to the exact degree it held when you were born. That moment is your solar return, and the chart cast for it is read as a map of the year ahead, from one birthday to the next. The Moon does the same thing about every 27½ days: a lunar return is a map of your coming month.
Enter your birth details once; both are calculated together, and you can flip between them with the Sun and Moon above.

Notes & cautions
Returns need an accurate birth time: the return itself depends on the Sun’s and Moon’s exact birth degrees, and the Ascendant moves about 1° every 4 minutes. For the solar return, a 15-minute timing error can shift the Ascendant by roughly 4°, so treat the rising sign as firm only when the Ascendant is not near a sign edge.
Many astrologers cast the solar return for the place where you will be on your birthday; use “somewhere else” above to try that. Readings here are symbolic themes for reflection, not predictions.
